Q&A: Can an adult adoption take place in a state in which that ...

Question by elleymay_inc: Can an adult adoption take place in a state in which that adult is not a resident?
I am 20 years old, and I want to be accepted. The family that wants to meet me live in Ohio. However, if Ohio law I am not entitled, as an adult to be adopted, we can the adoption in another state ? even if we are not residents of that State?

You can?t be adopted in any state, you aren?t a minor anymore. Only minors can be adopted and the reason there is adoption is so parents can raise a parent-less child. If you really like the family, you can keep in touch and call them family but they will never legally be your family.
